How to Prepare Before Using:
•When using this pot for the first time, rinse it with water before removing any remaining moisture. Then, put some cooking oil and vegetable scraps in the pot and saute thoroughly. Wash the inside of the pot thoroughly before applying heat, adding cooking oil, and using.
•When using the heat-treated wooden lid, please wash thoroughly before using.
Please Read Before Using:
•When using for the first time, oil will not spread across the bottom of the pot, and the food may be scorched. However, after two to three uses, scorching will become less likely.Please be sure to oil the pot with cooking oil before using.
•When using with a gas heat source, please use on medium or low heat.
•When using with a 200 V induction cooker, please refrain from sharply increasing the heat, and use moderate heat.
•This product may not be compatible with certain induction cookers.
•Not for use in microwaves or ovens.
•Do not store the pot with any food remaining inside.After cooking, please transfer any food to another container to store it.
•If the smell of the heat-treated wooden lid is a concern, simmering the lid for some time in hot water and vinegar will make the smell go away.
•Due to the nature of the wood, the heat-treated wooden lid may release some light sap. Please rest assured that it is non-toxic.
How to Maintain After Using:
•To clean, apply neutral detergent to a sponge and wash thoroughly.
Then, remove any water, and apply heat until no moisture remains. Add a small amount of unused cooking oil to the pot and wipe with a dry cloth. Store away from moisture.
•Do not use steel scouring pads, cleansers, etc.
•If any burnt food is stuck to the pot, do not attempt to scrape it off with a knife or other sharp object.Soak in hot water to soften before removing with care.
Care Instructions in Case of Peeling Finish:
1. Remove by rubbing the section where the finish is peeling with a firm sponge before washing.
2. Wipe away any remaining moisture before coating the entire inside of the pot with cooking oil. Apply low to medium heat until the oil reaches a high temperature.
3. Remove from heat and allow the oil to sit until it has cooled.
*The surface finish is a safe resin coating.In the unlikely event that it is ingested, it passes through the body without being absorbed, and causes no health effects.
*If the area where the finish peeled off has rusted, rub the area clean with a firm sponge before following steps 2 and 3 of the process.
Other Notes:
•In rare cases, the colors of foods may darken. This occurs when mineral content in the iron and the food chemically combines, and does not cause any health effects.
•Sudden drying of the wooden lid may cause cracks.It is not dishwasher or dryer safe.
